Studio travels with me
Even though my studio resides in the heart of Turku, I hardly feel I’ve left my work since art is never set in one place, in one time. I’m working remotely from near Tampere at this moment in time. While away from my physical studio in Turku I realized that I have another studio right here on the internet. The one that you’re reading - my website. In other words I take my studio with me.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to make my digital studio the same way I’ve conducted my actual studio. The place where I want to spend time and share it with everyone. The place where people feel free to visit and spend time in. I’m really excited for the changes to come.
How did I come to this conclusion? Well, I may have “put all my eggs into one basket” and said basket was full of holes. See, I believed in the power of social media carrying me to the promised land of successful art career. Silly, I know. It becomes even more silly, since I’ve followed one of the silicon valley pioneers Jaron Lanier and how he explained that success on social media is based on mostly luck, like 99,999% luck. So putting all my eggs into luck is truly silly.
In conclusion, I’m feeling excited for the future, stressed about the present and silly about the past. I’m happy that I finally figured out something so obvious. I may have gone back to 2001 with these blog posts, but the “luck factor” is clearly in my favor. Studios have stood the test of time, websites too, so let’s stick to the classics!
